Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, co-coordinator of the Research Group Changing Landscapes: long-term laboratory. She has developed research focused on agricultural, food, and rural change, exploring long-term and transdisciplinary perspectives. She is the Principal Investigator of the ReSEED project (ERC-StG funding, European Union). Tem desenvolvido pesquisa focada nas mudanças agrícolas, alimentares e rurais, explorando perspetivas de longa duração e transdisciplinares. É Investigadora Principal do projecto ReSEED (financiamento ERC-StG, União Europeia).

Ana Isabel Ribeiro

University of Coimbra, Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, Faculty of Arts and Humanities

Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, of which she is currently Director, and researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, being co-coordinator of the Research Group Digital Humanities. Research has privileged local nobility’s family and heritage relationships since the 18th century, analysing changes in the distribution of goods and social networks. She has been integrated into the teams of several scientific projects.

Pedro C. Carvalho

University of Coimbra, Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, Faculty of Arts and Humanities

Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, co-coordinator of the Research Group Landscapes in change: long-term laboratory. He has studied the dynamics in urban and rural territories, including population and the use of natural resources, in the Iberian Peninsula during antiquity. He is the Principal Investigator of the project IGAEDIS_The historic village of Idanha-a-Velha (funded by FCT, Portugal).

Elisa Botella Rodríguez

University of Salamanca, Faculty of Economics, Institute of Iberoamerica

Researcher at the Instituto de Iberoamerica and professor at the University of Salamanca. Research has focused on the agricultural history of Latin America, analysing rural development since the Second World War and the impacts of globalization. He has been part of the teams of several research projects.

Mário Martins

Federal University of Ceará

Professor at the Department of History at the Federal University of Ceará, coordinates the Center for Studies on Memory and Territorial Conflicts/COMTER. He investigates Brazil’s agrarian history, particularly the effects of the transformation from rainfed to irrigated land and the expansion of agribusiness. He is the Principal Investigator of the project For an Agrarian History of Ceará/Brazil (funded by UFC, Brazil).

João Tereso

University of Coimbra, Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, Faculty of Arts and Humanities; BIOPOLIS-CIBIO, University of Porto

Researcher at the Center for Research in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources of the University of Porto, being at the University of Coimbra professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and collaborator at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies. Crossing History and Archaeology, he has analysed the contributions of archaeobotany to understanding landscapes, agriculture, and technologies over a long time. He is the Principal Investigator of the B-Roman project, (funded by FCT, Portugal).

Carlos Manuel Faísca

University of Coimbra, Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, Faculty of Arts and Humanities

Researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies and professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra. He has investigated issues related to agricultural changes and sustainability, especially in the long-term rainfed areas of the Iberian Peninsula. He is part of the ReSEED project team.

Alberto González Remuiñán

University of Coimbra, Center for Interdisciplinary Studies and Faculty of Arts and Humanities

Researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies. Focused on the Iberian Peninsula since the 17th century, he studies the interaction between the State and local communities, paying particular attention to the chosen crops and agricultural practices. He is part of the ReSEED project team.

Sofia Lacerda

University of Coimbra, Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, Faculty of Arts and Humanities

PhD student in Archaeology at the University of Coimbra, where she is a member of the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies and professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. The focus of the investigation is on the changes in landscapes in Roman Lusitania, relating to land and settlement. She has a scholarship from the Foundation for Science and Technology (Portugal).

Leonardo Aboim Pires

University of Coimbra, Center for Interdisciplinary Studies; Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon

PhD student in Sustainability Sciences at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon, being a member of the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of the University of Coimbra. He is investigating the building processes of value chains since the 19th century, connected to specific crops and foods. He as a scholarship from the Foundation for Science and Technology (Portugal).
