Tour 2_Rural echo in the city: spaces and writers

With a university that is over 700 years old, Coimbra has hosted many important authors of Portuguese literature. This walking tour begins with a visit to the Casa Museu Miguel Torga, where the writer lived. It passes by João Cochofel’s house, where in the mid-20th century there were tertúlias gathering intellectuals and artists. It also includes a stop at Jardim da Sereia, which until the 19th century was part of the Monastery of Santa Cruz, but became a central place for leisure and reflection in the upper town.
